The plot is located in Indira Nagar, which is one of the best neighbourhood locations to live in Bangalore. The surrounding is rapidly gaining popularity amongst younger couples as the locale provides best lifestyles facilities, park, restaurants, schools, etc. The area has a good mix of old and new pensioners with residential bungalows of Ground + 2 or Ground +3 which has kept the simplicity of the place intact along with its wide spread of old & new trees. With strict budget and by-laws for construction with very bare minimum setbacks left from the plot for construction we adventured through to create a unique residential apartment of Ground + 2 floors with car park on the ground floor, office space for rental purpose on first floor and a private residence of 3 Bedroom for the owner on the second floor. With different usage of space on each floor made it quite interesting to come up with a layout which will work well for all the requirements of our client. As the plot was surrounded by neighbours building’s on three sides along with limiting setbacks on the plot, we decided to make the best use of the front side or road side of the plot to take maximum amount of openings in form of doors and windows to allow good quality of light and ventilation within. The bedroom sliding door opening allows one to get a wider look into the thriving street and builds a connection between the indoor space to the outer space. The overall building was scaled and proportioned to those of the neighbouring buildings of Ground + 3 floors with similar use of space. The entrance gate on the right side of the plot provides proper access for the cars to enter the plot for parking next to the secured and private pathway leading one to the staircase lobby for accessing the rental or residential space on the upper floors.
